Cleanings and Non-surgical Periodontal Treatments
Our hygiene staff and Doctor are well versed in the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment options for any gum condition. Our hygienists use state of the art ultrasonic scalers to prevent the "picking" that many patients dislike. Feel free to ask us more questions about how to keep your teeth and gums in peek form.
Fillings
Fillings are done during appointments made with Dr. Fallon. Fillings remove the cavity or "fill in" the chip/break that was diagnosed at your last exam and fill in the space left behind. There are two types of fillings, silver colored and white colored. There are indications for each and Dr.Fallon will talk to you about the pros and cons of each if the time comes you ever need a filling.
Removable Prosthodontics
Removable options for missing teeth are an esthetic, lower cost way to replace missing teeth. The drawbacks to are that they do need to be removed at night, will cover areas other than the missing teeth, and may have clasps to hold in place while you function through the day. There are several different types of partials and dentures from metal framework to all acrylic to flexible acrylic. Each has pros and cons associated. If you could benefit from a removable denture or partial denture Dr. Fallon will go over all aspects of these restorations so you can make a fully informed treatment decision for yourself.
Implant Restorative Dentistry
Implants are the most "natural" feeling way to replace missing teeth. Implants are placed under the gums and into the bone by a specialist surgeon. Once healed, Dr. Fallon can take impressions and get an attachment (abutment) and crown fabricated so that your implant looks like a real tooth in your mouth. It takes about 3-6 months for a single tooth implant to be completed, but the majority of patients state that it was worth the wait.
Tooth Extractions
Sometimes, there is no saving a tooth. Tooth extraction is inevitable at this point. We are so happy to announce that Dr. Fallon is comfortable and willing to help with many situations of tooth extraction. She has been performing minor oral surgery for many years and is equipped to handle many types of cases. Rest assured, If she is not able to do it herself, she works with amazing Oral Surgeons that we are confident will take great care of you and your treatment.
Esthetic Dentistry
Esthetic dentistry can enhance your smile but also idealize chewing function. We use many different materials ranging from tooth whitening to resin bondings to ceramics and all in-between! If you would like to consider an esthetic workup, let us know.
HealthyStart
HealthyStart is a program that utlizes removable mouth guards to help train nasal breathing, proper tongue placement and proper swallowing. Phase II HealthyStart can also help align teeth better for a more esthetic smile and less time in braces if they are needed.
Comprehensive Exams and Digital X-rays
Our office utilizes digital x-rays which minimizes the amount of ionizing radiation to our patients by up to 66%! Dr. Fallon will take all the information from your x-rays, periodontal charting, photographs (if applicable), models (if applicable) and your history to discuss the dental conditions you may have and how to manage them.
Fixed Prosthodontics
Crowns, Bridges, implant retained crowns and bridges. These lifelike restorations are fabricated in a multiple appointment procedure. In the first appointment Dr. Fallon will prepare the tooth and take impressions for the laboratory. The intraoral scan impressions are then sent to the lab to make your crown or bridge. Dr. Fallon will make a temporary crown or bridge for you to wear in the interim. The second appointment is to try in and fit your final crown or bridge. These restorations are either cemented in or screwed on (in case of implants) and do not come out.
Endodontics (Root Canals)
Root canal therapy is an amazing way for patients to maintain their teeth when the teeth become severely cracked and/or infected. Root canal therapy involves opening up the tooth and cleaning the roots from the inside then sealing them up to deter bacterial re-infection. Root canals can be very comfortable for patients usually only with minor post-operative discomfort. Dr. Fallon has been performing root canals for over a decade and a half and is very comfortable in providing this treatment for you. There are some situations that may require a specialist to complete this treatment for you.
Pediatrics
Dr. Fallon has a vast experience in the pediatric dental arena. She worked in pediatrics 1 day a week over the past 5 years. She was able to treat a myriad of child specific dental problems using the most advanced treatment options in pediatric dentistry. She utilizes sliver diamine fluoride, white fillings, silver and white crowns to fix children's teeth. She even is able to see children at Baystate Medical Center if their case warrants the sedation.
TMJ Treatment
OUCH, my jaw hurts! "TMJ," as it is socially known as, is very common, but it tells us that there may be something not quite right with the way your lower jaw works. Dr.Fallon has found a passion in the treatment of "TMJ" and can help you function normally AND be pain free. You will notice that there will be regular TMJ screenings at your exams.
