When White Spots Happen: ICON A Conservative Management

Removal of white spot lesions with ICON
ICON before and after done by Dr.Fallon

White spot lesions come from many different origins. From less than ideal hygiene during orthodontic treatment, to fluorosis, to trauma we see white spot lesions frequently in private practice. Just as often, patients feel that these white spot lesions are unsightly but don't mention them as they do not realize there are conservative ways to address these concerns.

If these white spot lesions are not associated with cavitated enamel, we at Fallon Dental Arts, PLLC start with one of the most conservative treatment options we have in dentistry. I have often been caught laughing during these treatments because it is still amazes me to see these white spot lesions disappear before my very eyes!

ICON helps smooth out enamel surface and white spot lesion appearance
ICON minimizes appearance of white spot lesions and smoothes out enamel surface

ICON treatment is a painless way to treat white spot lesions without the noise from dental drills. We will isolate the teeth to protect the gums, then rinse, clean the teeth and repeat as the white spot lesions are essentially stripped away

microscopically. Then clear ICON infiltrate is placed on the teeth and allowed to fill in all the small nooks and crannies of the enamel sealing these areas off. The smoother tooth surfaces will show minimized and often fully treated white spot lesions from view. ICON treatment is completed in one visit (although sometimes touch-ups are needed depending on severity.

ICON treatment is also cost effective, about the cost of a single bonding, you can have teeth that are brighter, even toned and smoother without the mechanical damage of drilling. If you are interested in ICON treatment, just let us know and we can evaluate your individual case to see if you would be a candidate for this amazing treatment.
